MARIA JOANNOU, CAKE BAKER AND DECORATOR
I am Maria Joannou, I have been baking and creating cakes for many years and in 2019 I decided to launch Marikscakes to showcase my creations. What started out as a hobby has now escalated into a business venture which allows me to bring my baking passion to people that want to try and appreciate my creations.
I like developing and learning new skills which enables me to fulfil my client’s vision and ideas.
I have spent the last 30 years working as a medical research scientist and I see my kitchen as my cookery/baking lab. I love the challenge of creating things and thoroughly enjoy it.
The kitchen is where the magic happens, and every baked creation is made with love.
My creations are made from home in my kitchen and I am graded at a Level 2 in Food Safety and Hygiene.
The challenge of baking is what inspires me and has been the main influence in my growth as a baker and cake decorator. I am constantly renovating my recipes and broadening the range of products that I have to offer - it is all about quality, and I offer a high quality product at an affordable price.
I create cakes, cupcakes, and dessert tables for all occasions and there is no limit to my creations! My art is authentic and unique with my touch added to all my designs - I am an independent baker who puts heart and enthusiasm into everything I do, and I am excited to showcase my talents to a wider audience of clientele.
